STORMWATER LINES

WORK COMPLETED FOR DOWNER NZ LTD

October 2011 - June 2012

TDM Construction Ltd was contracted by Downer NZ Ltd to complete all drainage and water main works as part of the new Hamilton Ring Road project.

The initial stages involved large diameter stormwater pipes, including multiple box culvert underpasses. The team worked mostly at depth, using trench shields.  Added complexity was the sand subgrade and a water table higher than invert, requiring continuous pumping and monitoring of ground conditions.

The Ring Road project involved around two kilometres of 600mm diameter ductile iron pipe, which again, came with its own challenges.

As the project progressed with increased scope, Downers NZ and hence TDM Construction Ltd, were asked to complete subsequent stages, forming a successful partnership throughout multiple work fronts.
